Success right down the line

Berndorf Band Engineering (previously the “mechanical engineering department” of Berndorf Band) has been a leader in innovation for over 20 years. The following examples are typical of our many successful projects. They are designed to show you what we can also achieve for your and your company.

Berndorf Band Engineering GmbH develops and implements innovative solutions designed to optimize production processes. The benefits are crystal clear: shorter manufacturing cycles, lower costs, and increased output. You can already ensure today that your company will still be competitive tomorrow.

Innovative Technologies Give Competitive Advantages

  • Supreme quality for the production of acrylic glass
Berndorf Band supplies belts with the impressive dimensions of more than 3 m in width and 260 m in length in one piece with a thickness tolerance of 40 µm. This quality is indispensable in the production of acrylic glass.
  • Welding process for belts with a thickness of 3.7 mm
A unique welding process enables Berndorf Band to manufacture stainless steel belts with a thickness of 3.7 mm.
  • Printing system for textured belts – modern digital technology
In order to apply a texture to endless metal surfaces, Berndorf Band Engineering has developed a process that ensures maximum flexibility in the choice of patterns. It is no longer necessary to correct register adjustment.

Green technologies – saving resources, improving working conditions

  • Recycling polishing water saves fresh water
When it comes to ecological processing, Berndorf Band Engineering has developed a polishing water recycling system that has been a great success. This saves precious drinking water and dramatically reduces the volume of wastewater. The Company received an award from the province of Lower Austria for this process.

  • Hydraulic systems save energy and protect employees’ hearing
Electronically controlled hydraulic systems save energy. Thanks to their high efficiency, water cooling is no longer required. Not only does this significantly reduces energy consumption, but the absence of cooling circuits also makes installation cheaper.
The positive effect for production workers is a reduction in the noise level, from a deafening 90 dB to a whispering 70 dB. This greatly improves working conditions and protects employees’ hearing.

Further successes:

  • Remote maintenance – ahead of its time
Berndorf Band Engineering was one of the pioneers of remote maintenance. Already in the mid 1980s, the Company delivered systems for automatic tracking of film casting belts that were the first to be equipped for remote maintenance. A technology which is now taken for granted was completely revolutionary at the time.

Berndorf Band – our parent company – is market leader in belts for continuous production processes. Berndorf Band Engineering ensures it remains a leader by continuously developing innovative technologies for the production of belts.
