An accurately aligned steel belt ensures smooth production too!

Steel belts are at the heart of every continuous production process, regardless of whether single or double belts are used. Such processes usually involve large changes in pressure and fluctuating temperatures. This imposes a heavy strain on the steel belts, and may result in premature wear and tear and expensive downtime.

Two factors determine the longevity of a steel belt and trouble-free operation:

  • Belt running:
belt shape, alignment of support rollers, temperature and soiling have a significant effect on belt running. Trouble-free operation can only be ensured by controlled, straight belt running.
  • Belt tension:
Alterations in belt length caused by processing may result in belt tensions that are too high or too low. Transverse welds may become overstretched as a result, destroying the belt. If belt tension is too low, belt running characteristics deteriorate, and may even lead to a production shutdown.

A dependable belt control system is the only solution to monitoring belt running and belt tension.

Berndorf Band Engineering offers two different systems. Which of these two systems is better suited to your application depends mainly on whether or not your belts are already equipped with belt tensioning equipment.

  • Belt tensioning equipment NOT installed:
bernmatic® belt tensioning and control system
  • Belt tensioning equipment installed:
    bernmatic® tracking roller

Advantages and Strengths:

  • Reduced downtime of your conveyor coupled with increased productivity since continuous control ensures optimal belt running.
  • Saves time when replacing the belt due to the fact that it is no longer necessary to adjust belt running. The conveyor is adapted to the new belt automatically when the belt is first run.

Options/ Special Executions:

Customer wishes and specifications vary considerably. Berndorf Band Engineering therefore offers various options and variants, such as remote maintenance, bus systems for communication with the main plant, and a variety of belt edge sensor systems.
