Double Belt Systems
Double-belt presses with circulating belts make it possible to implement continuous production processes. Continuous production methods enable you to boost production capacity whilst at the same time achieving lower energy consumption. Pressing, heating and cooling are achieved in a single production step.
Even products from single belt conveyors can often be produced more economically and better on a double belt system. For example, double belt presses can be used to either heat or cool both sides of the product simultaneously. Boards, for instance, can be manufactured with both greater precision and density.
Double belt presses are suitable for the production of board and sheeting:
- mineral materials (engineered stone, solid surface)
- special plastics (e.g. PMMA) single and multi-ply composites
- fibre reinforced thermoplastics (FRTP)
- glass-fibre-reinforced board products (GRP)
Double belt presses also offer a solution for products with special properties, such as:
- high density,
- special surface finishes special surface textures, and
- flexible dimensions

Custom calculation of the press design in accordance with your own process parameters:
- dwell time in the heating section = conveyor speed
- temperatures in the heating and/or cooling sections

- calibration gap of press rollers vertical adjustment = distance between both belts

Technical details:
- Implementation as a roller or sliding table system depending on the necessary pressure inside the press.
- Optimal control of belt tracking thanks to our bernmatic® belt tracking and tensioning system. This also makes it possible to use a continuous process to make products with fine production tolerances that could previously only be achieved with a discontinuous (batch) process. Our bernmatic® belt tracking and tensioning system is a standard feature of all our double belt presses.
- Thanks to our close cooperation with our parent company Berndorf Band, we are able to achieve synergies between steel belt systems and steel belts.
